Lawrence Restaurant Association celebrates milestone for its Hospitality Workers Relief Fund

Lawrence Restaurant Week starts today! To celebrate the people serving our food, we’re highlighting the Hospitality Workers Relief Fund, where the Lawrence Restaurant Association met its goal to distribute $20,000 to service industry workers in need last year. πŸ‘©πŸ½β€πŸ³

The fund started as a necessity during COVID, but it’s now a permanent source of assistance for housing, healthcare, childcare, and beyond. Tte LRA relies on its community partners β€” the Ballard Center, Bert Nash, Centro Hispano, and Heartland Community Health β€” to distribute funds directly to hospitality workers in need.

In this episode, you’ll hear from Laura Klein, owner of Mass St. Fish House and new board chair of the Lawrence Restaurant Association. She shares why this fund has been a life-saving measure for many local residents in the service industry.

And don’t forget … as you visit restaurants across town this week, make sure to thank β€” and tip! β€” your servers.
